Born in Mumbai on November 1, 1964, Nita Ambani (née Dalal) is the daughter of Ravindrabhai and Purnima Dalal. She trained in Bharatanatyam dancing and graduated with a degree in commerce from Narsee Monjee College in Delhi. The children of Shah Rukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar have been schooled by her sister, Mamta Dalal, who is an educator.

Career

Nita Mukesh Ambani is an art collector as well as the founder and chair of the Reliance Foundation. She became a board member of Reliance Industries in 2014. She left the Reliance Industries board in August 2023, although she is still the chair of the Reliance Foundation and will continue to be invited to board meetings on a permanent basis.

Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC)

The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), located in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex, opened its doors on March 31, 2023. It is dedicated to community arts programmes and has 16,000 square feet of exhibition space, including three theatres. The focal point is the Grand Theatre, which can accommodate 2,000 people and features a Swarovski chandelier with a lotus motif. In order to display well-known artists, the center also has The Cube, The Studio Theatre, and The Art House.

Personal life

When Nita Ambani was a school teacher, she got to know Mukesh Ambani. In 1985, they were married. She moved into their opulent home, Antilia, the second-most expensive property in the world, after a few years of teaching. Three years after their , their younger son Anant was born, and seven years later, they had twins via IVF. Nita is a grandmother to four little children as well.

Ambani was recognized by the Times of India as the Best Corporate Supporter of Indian Sports and was given the ‘Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Award 2017' for her grassroots sports initiatives.
