All you need to know about: Aarti
Aarti is a Hindu religious activity in which worshippers present light to a god or gods in order to symbolize their devotion and respect. Most commonly done in temples and residences, Aarti is achieved by circling a lit oil lamp or camphor around an image or idol of a deity while reciting prayers or devotional songs. The light symbolizes purification and the offering of oneself to God, as it removes unwanted darkness and negative influences. In most cases at the end of the ritual, the devotees complete the ritual by the light (or flame) by passing their hands over it and placing it on their forehead. Aarti is an important aspect of Hindu worship activities, carried out during important festivals, events and even daily worship sessions to express appreciation and ask for blessings.
