Sobhita Dhulipala, born May 31, 1992, in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, is from a Telugu Brahmin family. Her father was a Merchant Navy engineer and her mother a teacher. Raised in Visakhapatnam, she moved to Mumbai at sixteen to study corporate law at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. A trained Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam dancer, she was crowned Navy Queen at the 2010 Navy Ball.

Sobhita Dhulipala, a self-described “uncool geek,” said she was inspired to enter the contest by a college acquaintance who was interning at Miss India in order to make a message. She then went on to represent India at Miss Earth 2013 in the Philippines, where she took home awards including Miss Photogenic and Miss Talent despite not placing in the top 20. She was included in the 2014 Kingfisher Calendar as well.
After dating for two years, Sobhita Dhulipala and actor Naga Chaitanya were engaged on August 8, 2024.
Acting career
In Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016), Sobhita Dhulipala made her feature film debut with Vicky Kaushal. She received a Cannes nomination for Best Supporting Performance. She landed a three-film agreement with Phantom Films, doing roles in Chef and Kaalakaandi. She starred in the film Goodachari in 2018. Dhulipala made appearances in Bard of Blood and Moothon in 2019 and received praise for her role as Tara in Made in Heaven on Amazon Prime. She was also in Ghost Stories and The Body. She was in Kurup and Major in 2021. In addition to starring in The Night Manager (2023), where she won an ITA Award for Best Actress, Dhulipala portrayed Vaanathi in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan movie. She debuted in American cinema in 2024 with Dev Patel’s Monkey Man.
