Super Deluxe Film Critique: The Skill of Weaving Distinct Bites

Super Deluxe movie review

All aspects imaginable are perfectly captured in the quote; Super Deluxe movie review is no exception. I am indeed intrigued. How so and why? Well, it is the entire film that you will have to see till the end for me to reveal the how and the why, as spoiling the epic of the movies would be just in bad taste. What makes this film different than the rest is that Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s style of storytelling is such that he saves the moral for the last scene. As the end credits start rolling in, it dawns on you that this is not just a way of passing the time, but a work of art that will stay with you for a certain period of time, emotionally. Brace yourself, for the excitement brought about by the film Super Deluxe, shall be too immense!

The motion picture contains four different tales that are somewhat connected and all of them explore very different elements of human life, society, and ethical implications:

:

Leela (Samantha Akkineni) and her husband Mugil (Fahadh Faasil) get into trouble when Leela’s boyfriend dies in their presence whilst they are in . The storyline captures their panic in preventing the body from being discovered, and in the process exposes the bitter aspects of , love laced with betrayal and the ultimate forgiveness.

Shilpa’s Story:

goes back to her after a long gap, but the return home becomes more pronounced owing to Shilpa’s transition into a woman from a man. Her son Rasukutty finds it difficult to cope with the transformation while, Jothi (Gayathrie) her wife undergoes sham and ambiguous social position. In Shilpa’s case, she goes through the process of reconciling such polar opposites as her family’s views on gender roles and one unidentified gender in particular.

The Friends’ Story:

A bunch of teenage boys opt to hold away from school and go watch an adult movie, which takes a twist when the boy’s mother (Vembu, Ramya Krishnan) and one of the actresses turn out to be the same. This demonstrates how the subject of voyeurism is not as simple as one looking at images for entertainment, in fact it explores numerous complex social perspectives including family.

Arputham’s Story:

Arputham (Mysskin) who is portrayed as a fundamentalist ic religious person asserts that he survived a tsunami because God saved him. His extreme views create friction in the family as he also compels other members of the family to observe the same dangers. Faith, blind faith and the impact of religious intolerance on both the individual and the family unit form the core of this tale.

Super Deluxe movie review

The Super Deluxe movie contains four stories that are different but connected in some way.

The Super Deluxe movie review’s first story is about Vaembu () who has to come to terms with her ex-boyfriend’s dead body found in her house. She turns for help to her husband who gives a reluctant consent to fid the body but only on the condition they will get divorced after everything’s over.

Following this sequence four teenage boys make an interesting as one of them happens to have a mom who is an actress in the Super Deluxe movie review ‘Mallu Uncut’ they are currently watching. Filled with disbelief and fury, one boy goes on the rage of harming his own mother but ends up inflicting injuries upon himself instead.

The third narrative is about Shilpa ( Sethupathi) who has come back home after a long time only to stun everyone by declaring that she is now a woman.

The film picks one’s interest with the fourth narrative about a man who is a priest, ‘Arputham’ (Myshkin), who had once tried to commit suicide but after claiming God saved him from the tsunami, reasons against the notion. The story takes a turn when he is faced with a rude awakening.

The offer disparate ranges of stories that ultimatelly are interlded to a point that showcases the beautiful chaos called life and mankind.
