Introduction

Aulakh, born on February 5, 1999, is a professional cricket player from who represents the country in the sport. He is a player for Punjab in and represents the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Arshdeep is a left-handed lower-order batsman and medium-fast bowler with a left arm. In a Twenty20 International () match against England in July 2022. He made his for India as a bowler, becoming only the third Indian bowler to do so in their T20I debut, by bowling a maiden over.

Early life

On February 5, 1999, Arshdeep Singh Aulakh was born in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, into an Orthodox Punjabi Jatt Sikh family. Darshan Singh, who spent more than 25 years serving in the Central Industrial Force (CISF), and Baljit Kaur are his parents. After moving to Kharar, which is close to Chandigarh, Arshdeep started playing gully cricket with the youngsters in the neighbourhood. He enrolled in Chandigarh's Jaswant Rai Cricket Academy in 2015. Arshdeep has a sister named Gurleen Kaur and an elder brother named Akashdeep Singh who both reside in Brampton.

Domestic

Arshdeep Singh competed in the Katoch Shield and was a member of the Indian squad that won the World Cup of Under-19 Cricket in 2018. He excelled for Punjab's under-23 squad in the CK Nayudu Trophy in 2018. Taking eight wickets in a match against Rajasthan, including a hat-trick. In September 2018, he debuted on the List A, and in January 2019, he debuted in first class. Made his Twenty20 debut and finished as the team's second-highest wicket-taker after being acquired by Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings) for the 2019 Indian Premier League. He was included in India's squads for the T20I series against Ireland and South Africa in 2022 as well as the ACC Emerging Teams Cup in 2019. He committed to representing Kent in up to five County Championship games in 2023.

Arshdeep joined the Indian and T20I teams in June 2022 in preparation for the England tour. On July 7, he made his T20I debut, taking two wickets and bowling a maiden over. He took seven wickets in five Twenty20 Internationals while playing for the West Indies. Arshdeep was included in the squads for the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup, the South Africa T20I series, and the Asia Cup. With 10 wickets, he topped India in wicket-taking in the latter tournament. In November 2022, he played his first ODI match against New Zealand. He made the Indian squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in May 2024 and won ‘Player of the Match' as he took four wickets for nine runs against the United States.
