Introduction

Hardik Pandya, player  was born on October 11, 1993. He is now the captain of the Indians in the Indian Premier League and the of the Indian cricket team in limited-overs forms. He bowls right-arm fast-medium deliveries and bats all-round. Pandya has played for his regional team, , in domestic cricket on occasion. He has represented India in all three game formats.

Early years

On October 11, 1993, in Surat, Gujarat, Hardik Pandya was born. In order to give Hardik and his brother better cricket instruction, his father, Himanshu Pandya, relocated the family to Vadodara and enrolled them in Kiran More's cricket academy. Hardik dropped out of school in the ninth grade to concentrate on cricket despite his financial difficulties. Under the tutelage of Baroda coach Sanath Kumar, he emerged victorious in junior cricket, moving from leg spin to fast bowling at the age of 18.

Domestic career

Since 2013, Hardik Pandya has been a member of the Baroda cricket squad. He played a pivotal role in Baroda's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy triumph in 2013–14. He struck eight sixes in an undefeated 86-run innings in January 2016, helping Baroda defeat Vidarbha by six wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Indian Premier League

From 2015 until 2021, Hardik Pandya was a member of the Mumbai Indians. He signed on as captain of the Gujarat Titans after being freed in 2022, and the team won the championship in 2022 and advanced to the finals in 2023. He rejoined the Mumbai Indians in 2024, taking Rohit Sharma's place as captain.

International career

T20Is

Against Australia, on January 27, 2016, Hardik Pandya made his Twenty20 International debut for India by getting two wickets. Against England in July 2018, he scored a career-high 4/38, one of his standout performances during the 2016 World T20 and Cup. He was included in the India squad in September 2021, but performed poorly. Which kept him out of the next series. Against England in June 2022, he scored his first T20I half-century while captaining India in a Twenty20 international match against Ireland. He was appointed vice-captain of the 2024 T20 in April 2024.

ODI career

On October 16, 2016, Hardik Pandya made his India ODI debut against New Zealand, winning player of the match. In his opening ODI innings, he scored 36 runs. He scored 76 in the championship match of the 2017 ICC Trophy after hitting three sixes in a row in one over. He was included in the India squad for the after being named in ESPNcricinfo's 2017 ODI XI. He became the first Indian player to hit a half-century and take four wickets in the same game since Yuvraj Singh in 2011 on July 17, 2022. When he recorded an ODI career-best 4/24 against England.

Test career

Though he was named in India's Test team, Hardik Pandya was injured and could not play in the 2016 series against England. He played his first Test match against Sri Lanka on July 26, 2017. As the first Indian to reach a century before lunch, he made history in the last Test match of that series when he struck his first century. Later, Jasprit Bumrah broke the record for the most runs an Indian could score in an over. His debut century in international cricket came with this.

Personal life

Krunal, Pandya's brother, is an Indian and Mumbai Indians player. In January 2021, Himanshu Pandya, their father, passed away. On January 1, 2020, Pandya announced her engagement to dancer and actress Nataša Stanković. On July 30, 2020, their son, Agastya Pandya, was born. On February 14, 2023, they reaffirmed their in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
