Early life
Jasprit Bumrah, who was born in Ahmedabad in 1993, grew up with his Sikh Punjabi family. Despite the early death of his father, he and his sister were reared by their teacher mother. Cricket began at Nirman, his school, where his mother held the position of vice principal!
Youth and domestic career
When Bumrah performed well at the 2010 Gujarat U-19 trials, he was given a reserve position. In 2012–13, he made his T20 debut and helped Gujarat win a trophy. After the coach’s notice, he was signed by the Mumbai Indians. Bumrah made his first-class debut in 2013, and he was still very good in 2015–16 despite action issues. In December 2020, he hit his first-class fifty against Australia A.
International career
International debut
In 2016, Bumrah’s global career got off to a great start. He soon established himself as a top wicket-taker in T20Is and ODIs, even breaking the record for most wickets in a T20I season. He rose to the top of the ODI bowling rankings by 2018.
Test debut and World Cup
In 2018, Jasprit Bumrah was a sensation in Test cricket, taking five wickets in South Africa. In less than a year, he further shattered it by being the first Asian bowler to take five wickets in three of the top nations: South Africa, England, and Australia!
Test in India and T20 World Cup
After 2018, Bumrah kept up his good form, taking the most wickets during England’s 2021 tour and even holding the captaincy during a Test match for India. In July 2022, he rose to the top of the ODI rankings, but an injury kept him out of the T20 World Cup.
Present
Early in 2023, Bumrah’s back ailment prevented him from playing, but he recovered! In August, he led India’s comeback and even rose to the top of all cricket rankings. With 20 wickets at the World Cup, he put up a strong conclusion to the year.
IPL
After capturing coach John Wright’s attention, Bumrah signed with the Mumbai Indians in 2013. Taking 145 wickets in 120 matches, he has contributed to five IPL championships. In his first IPL game, he got rid of Virat Kohli at the age of 19. He became an important player despite ups and downs, showing promise with a five-wicket haul in 2022, among other memorable games. He suffered a back ailment in 2023, which kept him out of the season.
Bowling style

Personal life
Family is Bumrah’s first priority in life off the field. He wed the model Sanjana Ganesan in 2021, and when their kid was born in September 2023, their family got even more exciting.
