Kedar Mahadev Jadhav, From Cricket Star to Entrepreneur

Introduction

Kedar Mahadev Jadhav, Born in Bombay on March 26, 1985, is an Indian former cricket player who represented both Maharashtra and the national squad. Playing for Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Daredevils, and Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the Indian Premier League. Jadhav was a right-handed batsman who could also keep wickets and toss offspin. His first match was on November 16, 2014, against Sri Lanka, while his first T20I match was on July 17, 2015, against Zimbabwe. As the seventh most desirable man in Maharashtra, he was listed in The Times of India's 2017 list of the Top 20. The 2018 Cup Final saw him score 23 runs to help India win.

On March 26, 1985, in Pune, Kedar Mahadev Jadhav was born into a middle-class family from the Solapur district's Jadhavwadi. Among the four children, he is the youngest. Up until 2003, Mahadev Jadhav, his , was employed with the Maharashtra State Electricity Board as a clerk. Kedar started playing cricket at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana. He is a resident of Kothrud, Pune. He participated in tennis ball competitions for Rainbow Cricket Club prior to 2004 when he was called up to the Maharashtra under-19 team.

Domestic career

In the Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh in Pune in 2012, Kedar Jadhav made his first triple century with 327 runs. Which was the second-highest total by a Maharashtra batsman. He scored 1,223 runs in the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy season. Including six hundreds, which is the fourth-highest total in the competition's history. His efforts helped Maharashtra make it to their first final since 1992–93. Jadhav participated in both the West Zone and India A teams. He was included in the India B team for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2019.

Despite not playing, Kedar Jadhav was included in the Indian squad for the June 2014 tour of Bangladesh. In his , he scored 20 runs in a match against Sri Lanka in November 2014. He played three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against Zimbabwe in July 2015 in the third match. He scored his first-ever century (105*), and he also made his T20I debut. Jadhav won Player of the Series in January 2017 after hitting 120 off 76 balls and partnering with Virat Kohli for 200 runs against England. He was a member of the Indian squads for the 2019 and the 2017 Champions Trophy. Jadhav announced his from cricket on June 3, 2024.

Indian Premier League

Kedar Mahadev Jadhav joined the Delhi Daredevils in 2010 after spending time with the Royal Challengers Bangalore development team. On his IPL debut, he made an impressive 49 off 29 balls. He participated in 2011 for Kochi Tuskers Kerala, returned to Delhi in 2013, and in 2014 amassed 149 runs in ten innings. After leaving for the in 2018, Jadhav joined the RCB in 2016 and was injured after just one game. He cost INR 2 crores to purchase from Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2021. In the IPL auctions of 2022, he was unsold.

Business interests

In April 2024, Explosive Whey, a fitness and sports nutrition brand founded by Kedar Jadhav, Mandar Bhandari, and Rishikesh Hande, partnered with MS Dhoni. Dhoni will become an investor and brand ambassador for their protein supplement product.
